Disable Antivirus
Step 2 of 4 — Prevent antivirus from blocking or deleting the loader.
Our loader and cheat files interact with game processes at a low level, which triggers false positives in antivirus software. You must fully disable your antivirus before downloading and running any OwnCheats product.
If you skip this step, Windows will silently delete or quarantine the loader files. If the loader "disappears" after downloading, or closes instantly when you run it, this is almost certainly why.
Uninstall Third-Party Antivirus
If you have any third-party antivirus installed (Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, etc.), completely uninstall it — simply disabling it is not enough.
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps
- Find your antivirus program
- Click Uninstall and follow the prompts
- Restart your PC after uninstalling
Third-party antivirus can still interfere even when "disabled" or "paused". You must fully uninstall it.
Disable Windows Defender with Defender Control
We recommend using Defender Control to quickly and reliably disable Windows Defender.
Download & Run
- Download Defender Control from sordum.org
- Extract the ZIP file using WinRAR or 7-Zip
- Right-click
dControl.exe→ Run as Administrator - In the menu, click Add to exclusion list (this prevents Defender from blocking the tool itself)
- Click Disable Windows Defender
- Reboot your PC if prompted
- After reboot, the status indicator should show Defender is disabled (green)
If Defender Control can't disable Defender, try disabling Tamper Protection manually first:
- Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings
- Turn off Tamper Protection
- Then run Defender Control again
Manual Method (Alternative)
If you prefer to disable Defender manually without Defender Control:
- Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings
- Turn off Tamper Protection first
- Then disable:
- Real-time protection
- Cloud-delivered protection
- Automatic sample submission
The manual method requires you to disable Tamper Protection first — the other toggles won't stay off otherwise. Defender Control handles this automatically.
Exclusion Folder (Optional)
If you used Defender Control to fully disable Defender, you don't need an exclusion folder — Defender is completely off.
If for some reason Defender is still active, you can exclude a folder:
- Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection
- Scroll to Exclusions → click Add or remove exclusions
- Click Add an exclusion → Folder
- Create or select a folder (e.g.,
C:\OwnCheats)
Disable Windows Firewall
- Open Windows Security → Firewall & network protection
- Click each network (Domain, Private, Public) and turn off the firewall for all three
After verifying the cheat works, you can re-enable the firewall if desired. The antivirus must stay disabled while using the cheat.
